When I was moving my low level night elf around in World of Warcraft during one of the first days in which I started to play, I suddenly heard a very specific sound. Then I saw a nice banner appear on my screen. I had received my first companion pet, and the reward was the achievement “Can I Keep Him?”

Achievements in WoW are rewards for a variety of different things, going from falling 65 yards without dying to owning a large amount of companion pets, or mounts; to finishing dungeons; eating specific items, etc. The list of achievements is exhausting, and you can use them to earn yourself gold.
